国家地理频道在第32届新闻和纪录片艾美奖中荣获7项大奖

华盛顿27日晚消息,国家地理频道在第32届新闻和纪录片艾美奖中荣获7项大奖,是获奖最多的有线电视网。这也是国家地理频道近10年来获奖最多的一次,并连续4年保持提名数量第一,遥遥领先其它有线电视网。

Largest Number of Wins in Channel History; Follows Four-Year Streak
With the Most Nominations of Any Ad-Supported Cable Network


(WASHINGTON, D.C. — September 27, 2011) National Geographic Channel (NGC) received seven Emmy Awards for excellence in news and documentaries, as announced last night by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences ― the most Emmy wins of any cable network.

It is the largest number of Emmy wins in the channel’s 10-year history; the fourth year in a row of receiving the most Emmy nominations for news and documentaries of any ad-support cable network.

NGC’s Emmy-winning documentaries:

Restrepo: Afghan Outpost (2) ― chronicles the deployment of U.S. troops stationed at one of the most dangerous outposts in Afghanistan, by the late award-winning photojournalist Tim Hetherington and journalist/author Sebastian Junger.

- Outstanding Individual Achievement in a Craft: Editing

Great Migrations (2) ― tells the powerful stories of many of the planet’s species and their epic journeys to ensure survival of the species.

Witness Katrina ― reconstructs the storm and its aftermath in all its epic human complexity, entirely through the eyes of those who experienced it.

Explorer: Lost Mummies of New Guinea ― an expedition to solve the mysteries of a remarkable form of body preservation.

- Outstanding Individual Achievement in a Craft: Cinematography – News & Documentaries

Explorer: Can the Gulf Survive ― hunts for the truth of what happened with the crude oil that blew out the Deepwater Horizon wellhead, with exclusive access to BP’s operations.
